April 28, 2013 - Memphis, Tenn.

Amidst the pressure of being a first-time participant competing against 47 contestants, Wilkes Wings managed to earn 3rd Place honors at the 11th Annual Southern Hot Wing Festival in Memphis, TN. Led by owner and entrepreneur, Richard Wilkes, Wilkes Wings debuted a product line of hot wing sauces that resonated with the thousands of attendees at this year's Southern Hot Wing Festival.

With two fryers and two grills going full throttle, the staff of 10 at Wilkes Wings worked feverishly to accommodate the none-stop demand for Wilkes Wings' Sweet Heat, Lemon Butter Pepper, Whiskey, and Coconut Rum sauces. "Incredible", "unique", "never would have thought of that flavor for hot wings" were the words that raving fans used to describe Wilkes Wings sauces. As one repeat customer waited in line to be served, he belted out his order, "May I have some [Wilkes Wings] sauce with no chicken on it!" The Wilkes Wings staff also conducted surveys during the festival to gather feedback from the customers regarding the four sauces. Initial evaluations of the surveys reveal that customers unanimously feel that Wilkes Wings sauces have a brilliant, unique taste. However, there is no clear-cut conclusion as to which sauce was the crowd's favorite. Each of the four sauces appears to have its own fan base.

Unfortunately, Wilkes Wings sauces were not available for sale at the festival; however, the sauces will be available for customers to purchase online Summer 2013. Please continue to visit www.wilkeswings.com for periodic updates. Special thanks to the Southern Hot Wing Festival Committee for organizing a wonderful event for a wonderful cause - Ronald McDonald House Charities.
